Almost half of 20-somethings in Europe are now shortsighted

LONDON — The numbers of people with short-sightedness is growing across Europe, in part due to the increase in time spent using computers, new research suggests.

Scientists from King’s College London found that 47% of people between 25 and 29 have myopia or short-sightedness, making it nearly twice as common in this group when compared to the wider population.
